The Joy of Globalization

8 There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.
9 All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.

The end goal of God is to have people from all over the world worshipping Jesus Christ because they have turned from the gods of money, fame, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and all the rest.

There's no one like Jesus Christ and that's why He is worthy to be praised and worshipped.

The Joy of Prayer

Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. Psalm 86:4

God wants to make our souls glad if we will simply ask Him.

Lord make some people happier today when they cry out to you!

The Joy of Revival

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Psalm 85:6

It's awesome to think about our need for God to revive us so that we might see the treasure and value of Jesus Christ.

May you be revived today if you have been weary or burdened or dry or lackadaisical in your faith!

He wants to give us true life with joy. Ask Him to make you revived!

The Joy of Siblings

Aren't they so cute together?

They love each other, they make each other laugh, and overall just have a grand time.

Now don't get me wrong they also fight. But by and large I characterize their relationship as beautiful and joyful. It is awesome to have a brother or a sister.

The Joy of Dollar Stores

Caleb Katelyn and I went to the dollar tree today and had a fantastic time walking around letting them choose one item that cost a dollar each.

Caleb started out wanting the American flag but the blow Pops became insurmountable in his desire for them.

Kaitlyn started out wanting another water bottle but quickly realized that suckers was the way to go.

All in all we had a great time. And we didn't spend that much money. Praise God.

The Joy of Libraries

What a blessing to be able to go to a place and check out books, movies, anything you want for free.

And you can use the computers. Can have people help you do research. Praise God for the blessing of libraries.

They will even email you when your items are due. Some libraries even have apps.

I'm thankful for the blessings that come through civilized cities.

The Joy of Liberty

Christians have freedom to do all kinds of things that bring them joy.

I love olives stuffed with jalapeƱos.
I love sharing the gospel with Muslims.
I love Dr. Pepper.
I love listening to John Piper.

Such liberty in the Christian life!

And I think we should seek to stand for the liberty of others. The Catholic Church, which I detest because of their false doctrines, could lose their liberty to offer social services without offering contraceptives. There should be freedom to not offer that because God has created us to be free.

The Joy of Walks

Caleb Katelyn and I are taking a walk right now I'm just the simple beauty of walking through the neighborhood. The trees the smells of fresh air it's awesome.

The Joy of Music

Caleb loves to play the piano and I delight in his pleasure. Thank you God for music!

The Joy of Humility

My co-workers and I joked today about how ugly arrogance is in the workplace.

Pride looks to boast when humility is happy to defer praise to God and others.

I also met with a veteran church planter and I tried to be slow to speak and I enjoyed hearing his wise words.

May God help us all to be humble happily!

The Joy of Confession

I just confessed some blunders of mine to my wife and there is a joy in knowing that you confessed your sins.

I am still growing and being free to confess. I think I am slow to confess because I am a Pharisee.

Lord help me to be free from fear and free from pride.

What a joy to have a clean conscience.

The Joy of Fatherhood

I did not grow up with a father and definitely feel sad thinking about his absence in my life.

But I am grateful to be in my children's lives. I get to share in their smiles and trials. Their success and failure.

Thank you Lord for letting me be a father!

The Joy of Family

Caleb's birthday was this past weekend and we had a lot of family members come to Grand Rapids to celebrate.

What a joy to see family love on my children!

The Joy of Praying

This morning I woke up early and had a wonderful privilege of being able to spend some time in prayer and realized how comforting and amazing it is that i have access to an eternal powerful God.

Knowing that God hears me and wants to answer my prayer is an amazing joy.

The Joy of a Deal

Praise God for coupons and sales and discounts and foursquare deals.

They are reminders of grace.

The Joy of Serving

I try to put on my apple/google calendar that I should massage Beth at 9pm.

Do I massage every night? But I am more likely if I see serving as a joy and not a burden. How do you see serving?

The Joy of Racing

Caleb loves to race.

We went to the library and he wanted to race up the ramp. Then when we left we raced down the ramp.

He then said, "I win. I win at everything." He was so happy to race and win.

I love that guy.
